Lou Reed directs Susan Boyle video

Not only did Lou Reed allow Susan Boyle to cover a song of his, he’s chipped in to direct her clip.

While there was initially a publishing problem with Boyle performing ‘Perfect Day’ on America’s Got Talent, and Reed made up for it by endorsing her recorded version on her just-released second album The Gift.

Now he’s gone one better by directing a video clip for the reality show break-out star.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Reed said, “I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan's native Scotland and she quickly agreed.”

The clip was shot at Scotland’s Loch Lomond in less than ideal conditions of extreme rain, wind and fog.

Boyle said, “I loved that Lou understood how much it meant to me to film in Scotland. I didn't mind how much it rained or blew a gale - I enjoyed every minute.”
