Adam Levine has gushed over how “human” Ellie Goulding is.

The 35-year-old singer is currently a panellist on TV singing competition, The Voice US.

British musician Ellie will serve as a musical advisor on Adam’s team this season, and the Maroon 5 frontman couldn’t be happier about working with the Lights songstress.

"Ellie was so great,” Adam gushed to People magazine. "She's so human and easy to talk to. You could tell she had a profound impact on my team, which is awesome."

This will be the second time Ellie is making an appearance on The Voice US, having first served as a temporary mentor during season five.

She seems particularly well-suited for the task, as the star was determined to make it big from a young age, studying theatre at Kent University in England. But thanks to her tutors, she took the big step into the unknown to follow her dream of becoming a singer.

"I was going back and forward from doing open mic nights in London to being at uni and then it just got... I am now, but all the time, just exhausted so I couldn't do it all, and then my teachers at uni told me to quit because they thought I should... well that's not very good, they told me to quit, but they obviously thought I should do music," she recalled during an interview with BBC Radio 1.

The eighth season of The Voice US, which began airing February 23, sees Adam being joined on the panel by co-stars Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams. Other guest musical advisors this season include Lionel Richie, Nick Jonas and Meghan Trainor.
