Lady Gaga’s Fame Monster was the highest-selling album around the globe this year.
It’s unsurprising, since she’s not only a megastar in the States, but has been touring the world and shocking people into paying attention to her in every corner.
According to German site MediaTraffic’s ‘United World Chart’, The Fame Monster sold 5.8 million copies around the world this year.
The rest of the top ten is pretty unsurprising, since not only are the US heavy buyers but are also tireless exporters of music.
Eminem’s Recovery was second with 5.7 million sales, and Justin Bieber’s two versions of My World combined for 5.6 million sales.
There was a significant drop to Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now at fourth with 3.6 million copies, then Taylor Swift’s Speak Now with 3.5 million.
Susan Boyle’s The Gift was sixth, Black Eyed Peas The E.N.D. at seventh, Michael Buble’s Crazy Love at eighth, Sade’s Soldier Of Love at ninth and Alicia Keys’ The Element Of Freedom rounding out the top ten.
We can’t prove exactly how accurate the list is (there’s a conspicuous absence of artists from countries that have massive populations), but it’s a guide to who was raking in the cash in 2010.
