Nick Lachey is “excited” to experience the father-daughter bond with his daughter.
The American singer is currently expecting his second child with wife Vanessa Lachey. The couple have two-year-old son Camden John, and Nick isn’t sure how he’s going to feel when his little girl makes her appearance.
“I can’t imagine loving a child more than I love my son, so I guess it’s just gonna be a different kind of love,” he told People magazine. “I think that there’s something special about that bond between father and daughter, which I’m excited to experience first-hand.”
Nick and Vanessa married in July 2011 after dating on and off since 2006. The couple welcomed their son just over a year later in September 2012.
The 41-year-old is thankful that Vanessa has had a smooth second pregnancy as it’s made the experience enjoyable for the whole family.
“We both look forward to meeting our daughter,” he added.“[It’s] just at that point now where you’re ready to meet this little life you’ve watched grow for the last eight months.”
The couple are making sure that Camden is prepared for the new addition to their family. And according to Nick, he’s looking forward to being a big brother.
“I don’t know if he completely grasps the concept of a little sister, but he’ll kiss her belly and say goodnight to [his] little sister,” he smiled.
If their bundle of joy arrives on time, Nick will have to wait until after Christmas to meet her. But the star likes to be organised and is all prepared if their daughter decides to make a sudden appearance over the holidays.
“We’re expecting a little girl pretty much at any time now. We’re celebrating, but we’re celebrating with one eye on the contraction clock, if you will,” he revealed. “We’re ready to hit the hospital if we have to, but it adds a special dynamic to this holiday season knowing we’re getting the best gift of all in a daughter, at some point.”
