Kevin Hart is preparing to "hit Justin Bieber below the belt" during his comedy roast.

The actor is acting as roast master for the Comedy Central event, which is being staged on March 30. There is great excitement about what's in store, with Kevin promising he isn't going to hold back when it comes to teasing the 20-year-old Canadian heartthrob.

"Expect me to hit him below the belt a couple times… I have to set the tone so everyone understands that it's a fun night. We're all here for a good reason and let’s throw some jabs, but nothing malicious. It'll be great," he told Extra on the red carpet at last night's Oscars.

It was a popular question posed to Kevin, who gave Access Hollywood a few more details.

He insisted it will be "all in good fun", but reiterated that nothing will be off limits when it comes to his gags.

And Justin has certainly offered a lot of material for those taking part. He was fined $80,900 and ordered to do community service after pleading no contest to pelting his neighbour's house with eggs, and earlier this month wore a dubious seemingly Michael Jackson-inspired outfit to see Kanye West's New York Fashion Week show.

Neither of those are what sticks in Kevin's mind though.

"He bought a monkey," he deadpanned.

The comedian was referencing Justin's pet Mally, who was confiscated in 2013 when the singer brought him to Germany from Los Angeles without the right paperwork.

Kevin wasn't all about the upcoming roast on the red carpet; he had some other things to get off his chest too. Number one was a query about a movie he was passed over for - the infamously raunchy Fifty Shades of Grey. It stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, but Kevin feels he really had something to give if only casting bosses had realised.

"[I prefer doing scenes] 99 per cent nude. I feel like with a body like this, you have to let it out," he told Access Hollywood. "This is what the people want. I'm not gonna deny the people what they want. Seeing me nude is what everybody's waiting for. The question is, 'Why wasn't I cast in Fifty Shades of Grey?' It should have been me! That should have been me."
