The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards has told Rolling Stone magazine that the word “studio” recently came up at a band rehearsal and that it could very well lead to a new album.

The Stones haven’t released an album since 2005’s A Bigger Bang but it seems there might just be a new one in the near future. Richards said “Just last week, the word ‘studio’ popped up while we were rehearsing. I said, ‘Well, let’s find a time. I’m ready!”

Ron Wood added that the band may be in the best headspace they’ve ever been. “I think it’s the best vibe ever within the band. We’ve never been closer.”

Still, a new release may still be quite awhile off as the Stones have to finish their North American tour and are currently considering a trek around South America. To hold fans, there is serious talk of releasing the footage from their “secret show” at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre. The band played the entire Sticky Fingers album at the show, which they said took a lot of work as they hadn’t played some of the songs in years.
