Katy Perry thinks Bruce Jenner is helping people "evolve".
The pop sensation is close friends with the Kardashian family and always poses for photos with them if they're at the same event.
Bruce has been the centre of attention recently, following his in-depth interview with Diane Sawyer last month, in which he revealed he is transitioning to become a woman. The 65-year-old definitely has Katy's support, as does the rest of the family, whose antics are documented on TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
"I was thinking the other day, we've all had our own commentary on the Kardashians, but if they hadn't existed, we wouldn't have had the fantastic Bruce Jenner who is just evolving everybody right now with all of his wonderfulness," Katy gushed to ET. "So, the Kardashians in my book are completely valid."
Katy was speaking from the 2015 Met Gala in New York on Monday night, where she wore her "Kris Jenner hair", a short cropped wig. The 30-year-old singer was thrilled at hearing the family matriarch was in attendance too.
"Listen, Kris Jenner is very important to me," Katy added. "That is not sarcastic at all. She has a great sense of humour and she's kind of like the mother of everyone."
The Kardashian clan - which includes sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloé - weren't Katy's only focus earlier this week, as the star reportedly cosied up to on/off boyfriend John Mayer at do. Us Weekly reports the pair were spotted "leaning in for many passionate kisses" and holding hands throughout the after party.
They were later joined by Katy's close pal Robert Pattinson and his fiancée FKA Twigs, who showed off her gorgeous engagement ring on the red carpet.
