Katy Perry leads the way with the 2014 MTV EMAs nominations.
The 29-year-old singer is up for seven awards at this year's ceremony, including the prestigious Best Female gong. In this category she'll have to battle off fellow artists Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé Knowles.
Katy is also up against Ariana in the Best Pop category, where the pair are joined by 5 Seconds of Summer, Miley Cyrus and One Direction. Carrying on her talent into the Best US Act title, also featuring Beyoncé, Katy is against Eminem, Pharrell Williams and a final musician who will be voted for by the public. Fans can choose online between Demi Lovato, Ariana, Trey Songz, Fifth Harmony and Austin Mahone.
The raven-haired beauty's nominations are topped off by Best Song for Dark Horse ft. Juicy J, also in the Best Video group, Best Live and Best Look.
Ariana follows shortly behind with six nods.
Pharrell leads the way in the Best Male category, along with his four other potential wins. He's joined by Brit Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber. 5 Seconds of Summer are up for five gongs too, while Iggy, One Direction, Eminem, Nicki, Sam Smith and Kiesza all boast four.
The award ceremony is set to take place on Sunday 9 November in Glasgow, Scotland. There will be a special pre-show live event in Miami, Florida, hosted by ET beforehand.
Votes close on Saturday 8 November.
