Britain's Prince George reportedly has a playdate arranged with Blue Ivy.

George's mother and father the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in New York City this week, with their royal visit going down a storm with locals.

They took in a basketball match on Monday, where they met Beyoncé Knowles and her husband Jay Z. The couples apparently got along like a house on fire, with the women bonding over their children Prince George, 16 months, and two-year-old Blue Ivy.

"Bey was in awe of Kate and William and they found common ground talking about their babies. Now they’ve pledged to introduce Blue Ivy to Prince George when they come to England in the New Year," an insider told British newspaper The Daily Star.

“They’ve already made a play date at George’s nursery."

The two couples watched as the Cleveland Cavaliers took on the Brooklyn Nets - the team Jay used to own a stake in.

William and Catherine were seen laughing and joking throughout the game, and they were even given jerseys emblazed with 'Cambridge' and 'George' by sportsman LeBron James.

Apparently there was time for more general chit-chat too, with Catherine and Beyoncé opting for the topic on most people's lips at the moment; the festive season.

"They were also discussing Christmas presents and how they didn’t want to spoil their children,” the source said.

That's not where the similarities ended either. Apparently the A-list singer and royal star have the same idea about the perfect gift for their little ones.

"They agreed something small that their children can take to bed and cuddle is always a winner," the insider explained.
