Kanye West has reportedly asked for photos of him wearing a leather skirt to be deleted.

The rapper caused a stir when he sported a Givenchy kilt on stage at the Hurricane Sandy relief concert in December last year. According to British newspaper The Sun, Kanye appears to be unhappy with the reaction to his fashion statement and reportedly asked picture agency Getty Images to scrap every photograph it has of him in the outfit.

Kanye’s kilt attracted derision from some of his chart rivals, including Chris Brown. Fellow rapper Lord Jamar even posted a track on the internet seemingly dedicated to Kanye’s fashion faux pas.

Lyrics from the song Lift Up Your Skirt also appeared to mock Kanye’s other wardrobe choices.

“He introduced the skinny jeans to the rap scene/Then he wore a f**king skirt on the video screen/Then he wore it again at a memorial/I can’t pretend this sh*t ain’t deplorable,” raps Lord Jamar.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Kanye and his stylist were seen deliberating about how the Givenchy leather kilt should be worn.

The rapper considered the length and detailing on the garment and even practised his moves while wearing the skirt.

“It just looks like a long T-shirt. We’ve got all these different versions. The one I tried yesterday didn’t have pleats in the back. What happens is when I go like this [moves] it makes this weird shape,” Kanye revealed before showing his passion for the piece. “I love this, I don’t care if people think I am wearing a kilt or not wearing a kilt. I just love the silhouette. I think it’s really modern.”

Kanye’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian branded the kilt “cute” when he wore it.

She is currently expecting their first child and recently revealed her rapper beau plans to design special outfits for their baby.
