Kaiser Chiefs, Kate Nash and other British musos have been helping in the clean-up of the London riots.

NME reports that Kaiser Chiefs (I Predict A Riot) singer Ricky Wilson posted on twitter: “Camden Chalk Farm. Me and [bassist] Simon [Rix] will there in a bit with our brooms. Get to one near you today if you're about."

Kate Nash also tweeted “At the Bethnal Green clean up, nice to see so many people ready to help in the community!" and Nash and Wilson also ended up helping out at Clapham later on in the day.

Also members of Get Cape.Wear Cape. Fly and singer Emmy The Great have also been tweeting about their clean-up endeavours.

Many other musicians have reacted with sadness and disbelief to the riots on twitter, including Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, Scroobius Pip, and Calvin Harris.

Although notorious stirrer M.I.A. tweeted: “I'm going down to the riots to hand out tea and mars bars".
