Justin Bieber’s mom is apparently “pushing” him to reunite with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The young couple have had a famously on/off relationship since Justin was spotted flirting with models at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last year.

Recently, the 18-year-old Baby singer has hit headlines for his rebellious behaviour and his mother Pattie Mallette reportedly hopes getting back with Selena could calm him down.

“Justin’s mom has always been very close to Selena, and she’s impressed by what a good influence she’s been on her son,” a source explained to RadarOnline.

“Pattie’s been pushing hard for Justin to get back with Selena. However, Selena doesn’t want to associate with the crowd Justin’s been hanging out with lately as she thinks they’re not to be trusted.”

At the beginning of this year, a picture of Justin smoking what looked like marijuana was released in the press.

The snap caused a stir and insiders believe Selena is right not to get involved with his new friends.

“[She doesn’t trust them] and, with good reason, as it was one of Justin’s supposed friends who recently sold photos of him allegedly smoking weed. Selena is very careful who she spends time with and is very suspicious of people she doesn’t know – she doesn’t want to be with Justin all the time as he’s surrounding himself with what she thinks are really shady people. Pattie believes though that if Selena would just get back together again with Justin she could soon get him back on the straight and narrow,” the source continued.

It seems there could be hope for the pair, after a girl believed to be Selena was seen leaving the teenage heartthrob’s Los Angeles home on Saturday morning.

Whereas it looks like a step in the right direction, insiders believe there is little hope for the couple who broke up just before the New Year.

“I seriously doubt Justin and Selena will ever get back together for good,” the source sighed. “They fight non-stop over just about everything. Selena has a problem with Justin’s choice of friends and serious trust issues with him.”
