Jay-Z arranged for several flat-screen TVs to be installed at a party venue so guests could watch sport.

The hip-hop mogul hosted a bash for a new cognac by Bacardi called D’Ussé earlier this week. It was held at the Top of Standard nightspot in New York City and Jay-Z was determined to cater to his attendees’ every whim.

He knew basketball teams the New York Knicks and Miami Heat were battling for a place in the second round of the playoffs and suspected many guests would be eager to watch the game.

“The rapper brought in flat-screen televisions to the Top of Standard Wednesday night, to make sure guests… could stay tuned in,” reports New York Post.

Among those who partied with the rapper were Pharrell Williams and Jake Gyllenhaal, as well as Jay-Z’s wife Beyoncé Knowles’ sister Solange and mother Tina.

Singer Beyoncé wasn’t at the event, although she was spotted with her husband later on in the evening.

The couple were seen enjoying each other’s company at The Darby restaurant. A host of big names were also at the venue, among them Zoe Saldana, Wyclef Jean and Gerard Butler. Fugees star Wyclef thrilled with an off-the-cuff version of one of the band’s songs.
