Iggy Azalea has insisted she is quite a “genuine” person.

The 25-year-old rapper cut a song called Pretty Girls with Britney Spears, but unfortunately the tune was not a massive hit.

On Sunday Iggy took to Twitter expressing why she thought Pretty Girls flopped and a day after making the statements, which many perceived as a slight diss towards Britney, the Australian superstar clarified the true nature of her bond with the 33-year-old American pop icon.

“Genuine friends have genuine opinions. Its possible & healthy to have a differing thought without it being b***hy or shade (sic),” Iggy wrote in a tweet on Monday June 29, before adding in another message, “Im suspect on anyone who agrees with me ALL of the time; because i know i dont get it right 100% of the time.”

Iggy’s initial incendiary comments took place during a Twitter Q&A over the weekend. One of her fans noted her collaborative tune with Britney “flopped a little bit”.

And Iggy was quick to share her opinions on why Pretty Girls wasn’t as successful as initially anticipated.

“@rhuancesarr its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured… (sic),” the rapper wrote.

Iggy’s comment sent Britney’s fans into an uproar.

After articles were written up on the slight shade she allegedly threw at the pop star, Iggy clarified her statement to one outlet in particular.
“@ThePopZone my comment is factual, it applies to any song. I dont have to suck the womans a*shole 24/7 to be her friend, do i? bye girls,” she wrote.
