Gwyneth Paltrow only works out to Beyoncé.

The actress, who is known for her amazingly trim and toned physique, has her best friend to thank, says her long-time trainer, Tracy Anderson.

In order to make it through her gruelling workout sessions, the 42-year-old looks for upbeat music that keeps her motivated – and no-one fits the bill quite like her superstar bestie.

"Anything Beyoncé! I played some house music for Gwyneth one Friday and she wasn't feelin' it and was like, ‘Let's get some Beyoncé up in here!'” Tracy told E! News of her famous client’s very particular taste.

"We're seriously thinking of only playing Beyoncé on Fridays! Gwyneth was like 'Yeah, love it! Beyoncé Fridays!'"

Gwyneth’s perhaps surprisingly tight friendship with Beyoncé is well documented. The Oscar-winning actress is said to have been the deciding factor in Bey, husband Jay Z and their daughter Blue Ivy recently moving to Los Angeles from New York.

So then who better to turn to when she’s in need of some extra motivation.

With music playing “such a big part” of Anderson’s workouts, Tracy understands Gwyneth’s need to have just the right tunes playing to keep up the momentum.

And Gwyneth isn’t the only one with a prerequisite when it comes to music selection.

Girls star Lena Dunham also enjoys sweating it out with Anderson, though her musical requirements are rather different as one might assume.

"Lena really digs my playlists filled with Bleachers," Tracy revealed, adding that the 28-year-old works out not to lose weight but “because it makes her feel good”.

Another famous client, Jennifer Lopez, currently has one particular song on rotation, Tracy admitted. The 45-year-old can’t get enough of Jealous by Nick Jonas.

"JLo and I have played Nick Jonas Jealous on repeat," she divulged, adding, ‘My A-plus students really have learned what it means to really get into the music."
