Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Gwyneth Paltrow were among stars promoting World Water Day Saturday.
The Toxic hitmaker took a moment to share a link on Twitter to clean water charity Drop4Drop and asked fans not to take drinkable water for granted.
“We are so lucky to have clean water. Lets make clean water possible for all w/ @drop4drop! #WorldWaterDay #ILoveWater,” she wrote.
Miley also chimed in, adding: “#ILoveWater Make a difference this #WorldWaterDay with @drop4drop.”
The Drop4Drop website shared the stunning statistic that 800 million people lack access to clean drinking water.
Activists from the charity urged visitors to donate, revealing as little as $2 could “give a person access to safe clean water for the very first time”.
Earlier in the day, Gwyneth Paltrow did her best to promote the effort, posting a make-up free selfie on Instagram.
“Full of healing power. #iLoveWater #WorldWaterday @drop4drop,” she captioned an image of herself chugging a bottle.
AnnaSophia Robb added: “Man I am so thankful for fresh water! Let's celebrate #worldwaterday and help raise awareness for the 800+ million people who need clean drinking water. @charitywater charitywater.org/pipeline @generositywater.”
Niall Horan, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber also promoted the charity.
“Make a difference this #WorldWaterDay today with @drop4drop,” Justin wrote.
According to Drop4Drop, a donation of $16.50 will secure water for an entire family, and $2,475 will give more than 1,000 people access to clean water.
The organisation works in India and Africa, and in countries where emergency relief is needed.
