Ariana Grande “wrecked” her car on the way to Big Sean’s Los Angeles home.
The 21-year-old Problem singer’s relationship with the hip-hop artist has been the subject of tabloid gossip for months.
And she remembers getting into her first car accident while driving to see the Beware hitmaker.
"I was driving to Big Sean's house on those windy hills in LA,” Ariana recalls in the October issue of America’s Marie Claire magazine. "It was my first time going up those hills so I was going like 12 miles per hour. This lady was whipping around the corner, and I came to a complete stop so she bumped me really hard—the whole front of my Range Rover was wrecked."
The pop star learned a quick lesson from the incident. She remembers feeling taken advantage of by the other driver, who expressed fears she had sustained an injury in the crash after Ariana hinted she may be famous.
"She jumped out and was like, 'Sweetie, it's okay, it's totally fine. What do you do?' I was like, 'I'm a singer,'" she remembered, "And she was like, 'Oh, I think I broke my leg.' And I was like, 'I mean, I make jewelry.'"
The Yours Truly singer recently broke out of her shell after rising to fame as the star of Nickelodeon TV series Sam & Cat.
Ariana admitted she "used to pretend to be a little more like her [character Cat Valentine] than I actually was”.
But she insists she’s been mature for her age for several years.
“[When I] was 14 years old and ready to make an R&B album," she recalled. “[I] wrote this song called Higher, and the lyrics were too sexual, too mature. And my mum was like, 'This is a great song, but damn, you're too young for this."
