Cory Monteith has been found dead at a Canada hotel.
The Glee star's body was discovered at a Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver. He was 31.
His publicist confirmed the news in a statement to USA Today.
"We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss," Melissa Kates said.
CTV British Columbia first reported the news.
Monteith, who is from Calgary, had apparently checked into the hotel July 6 and was scheduled to check out Saturday.
The outlet reports hotel staff went to check on him when he missed the noon check out time.
Rumours of Cory's passing began to circulate on Twitter shortly before his publicist's comment.
Some suggested the star had suffered a drug overdose.
Cory had been candid about his battle with drugs and alcohol in the past.
He entered rehab for the first time at the age of 19 but suffered a relapse earlier this year, according to People.
The actor announced through a representative on April 1 he was voluntarily checking into a facility for substance abuse issues.
In 2011, Cory broke his silence about his struggle with addiction.
He hoped by being so candid he could encourage others like him to get help.
"I don't want kids to think it's okay to drop out of school and get high, and they'll be famous actors, too," Cory said.
"But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it."
Cory was best known for his role as Finn Hudson on US television musical Glee. He was reportedly dating co-star Lea Michele at the time of his death.
