Lady Gaga has revealed Taylor Kinney presented her with a Ring Pop when he proposed.

The 28-year-old songstress, real name Stefani Germanotta, became engaged to the actor on Valentine’s Day after he asked for her hand in marriage.

And while speaking on the 87th Academy Awards red carpet Sunday night, Gaga noted he started off the proposal with a piece of candy.

"It was so special," she gushed to ET Online. "It was actually funny, he first gave me a Ring Pop – a candy Ring Pop – and I was crying so hard, and I said yes right away, and then he pulled out the heart-shaped diamond and I said 'Oh, God!'"

All jokes aside, Taylor presented her with a custom engagement ring he designed with famed jewellery maker Lorraine Schwartz, which is estimated to be worth up to $500,000.

Gaga stunned at the Oscars in a white gown made by Azzedine Alaia and she capped off her outfit with bright red gloves.

The star felt privileged to be wearing the attire, despite people’s criticism of her choice to accessorise with the gloves.

"[Alaia’s] one of the greatest designers in history," she noted. "He's never ever made a custom piece for the Oscars before, so I’m very honoured to be wearing this tonight."

Gaga performs a special tribute piece at the Academy Awards this year.

She’s been sharing Oscars rehearsal moments with fans via social media recently and the singer assures she’s putting all her energy into putting on a good show.

"I really put my heart into this performance," Gaga said. "It's a tribute performance for a remarkable film that changed the history of cinema forever and I’m just very honoured to be doing it."
