A 1974 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow has a guide price of £9,000- £11,000 in the UK. Freddie Mercury’s Roller was expected to seller for £24,000- £28,000. It went for £60,000.

The Mercury classic was sold yesterday (January 12) at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham by Freddie’s sister.

Freddie bought the car in 1979 through his company Goose Productions Ltd and owned it until his death in 1991. His sister took possession of the care and has cared for it for the past 22 years.

Freddie never drove the car. He never had a driver’s license but he had three chauffeurs on call to get him wherever he needed to go.

The car rarely used but did make an appearance at the We Will Rock You premiere in London.

£60,000 is approximately $US97,000 / $AUD92,000.
