Ellie Goulding wants a famed natural history expert to appear on her next record.

The 27-year-old star released her last record Halcyon in 2012, with a repackaged version out last year. A couple of her new tracks have hit the airwaves this year and she’s now thinking about what her next album will sound like. Ellie wants to take it in a new direction and show she is more than just a pretty face.

“At the moment I’m really into science and nature,” she told British newspaper The Sun.

“I’m reading about the beginning of the universe and also watching documentaries and loving David Attenborough – his voice and his knowledge is amazing.

“If I could somehow utilise his voice in a recording with me, it would be awesome – a chance to make a point with my music and his authority.”

David is famed for his eye-opening documentaries on all aspects of the natural world.

Ellie’s change of direction could be to show she isn’t just a woman obsessed by love. She has been linked to many different people over the years, including One Direction’s Niall Horan and Ed Sheeran, and has expressed her discomfort with her romantic life hitting the headlines.

“I’ve written a lot of songs about relationships and break-ups,” she explained. “I feel like my next album is going to be about something completely different.”

The singer seems to have developed a new outlook on love over the last few months. In April, she admitted giving her attitude towards dating an overhaul.

“I [used to] put men on a pedestal. I decided to remedy that, and that’s why I’m single now,” she told Cosmopolitan magazine.

“They’d be everything [but] I’ve realised I don’t need a guy. I’ve got amazing, awesome, stupid friends in the best way possible.”
