Ed Sheeran didn't benefit sexually from being a Brit in Hollywood.

The flame-haired singer burst on to the scene in 2011 with hit song The A Team and has gone on to achieve global stardom.

His fame saw him uproots and move over to LA, where he lived with Snow Patrol pal Johnny McDaid who he famously introduced to Johnny's now fiancée Courteney Cox. While being British made him more endearing to many American big shots, Ed admits it didn't help with the ladies.

"Nah, nah, nah being English just goes a long way in Hollywood. I benefited from it... not sexually, professionally!" Ed laughed to Q magazine. "Everyone thinks you're kooky and fun. I was in these situations, dinner parties, clubs, meeting, people and I thought, 'All this could end tomorrow, I better do it all now so I'll at least have some decent stories.' I definitely lived it."

Ed is currently loved up with girlfriend Athina Andrelos, who works for chef Jamie Oliver's company, and admits he's never taken advantage of his fame when it comes to the opposite sex.

The 23-year-old has previously been linked to Ellie Goulding and close pal Taylor Swift, and says being in love far outweighs a one-night stand.

"I'm no good at it. Because I'm rubbish at chatting women up. I really am! That's something you learn at school and I was never that guy. Girls weren't interested, I still don't know how to do it. I'm a lot better in a relationship, which is rewarding, not just... a ten-second feeling. In my case," he laughed.
