Ed Sheeran's recent Dublin concert is reportedly set to feature in the upcoming Bridget Jones movie.

The pop favourite performed to a packed out crowd at Croke Park stadium last month, and it seems the gig is going to have more longevity than Ed might have thought.

British newspaper The Sun reports the concert will feature in the third instalment of the popular franchise, Bridget Jones's Baby.

Movie makers filmed Bridget on top of a mystery man's shoulders, taking in Ed's set. Eagle-eyed fans wouldn't have spotted Bridget actress Renée Zellweger in the crowd though, as producers decided a stunt double would be a better option.

"There was no risk in filming Renée at a busy gig. But they knew the cat would be out the bag the minute people saw her at the show," a source told the publication.

“Renée's body double and the cameramen were in and out of the crowd as quickly as possible.

“These are the first moments in early filming for the new movie. None of the show’s main talent have been involved yet.”

As the title suggests, Bridget is set to give birth in the new film though the father of the tot is unknown. In the first two films, based on Helen Fielding's bestselling books, Daniel Cleaver (played by Hugh Grant) and Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth) vied for attention.

Casting and storyline are shrouded in secrecy, but The Sun reported last year that some of the actors didn't like the script which lead to Emma Thompson coming on board to help with a rewrite.
