Diddy has been tapped to co-host Alicia Keys’ Black Ball charity event.
The singer puts on the star-studded gala annually to benefit her chary Keep a Child Alive, which benefits people affected by HIV and AIDS in Africa and India.
And Alicia announced Tuesday Diddy has agreed to emcee the affair alongside her producer-rapper husband, Swizz Beatz, according to the Associated Press.
The event will take place at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom October 30 and will feature performances from Nas,
Angel Haze, David Byrne and Alicia herself, as well as a roster of “other incredible artists”, according to the charity’s website.
Keep a Child Alive launched in 2003 with the mission to “support innovative, community-led responses that increase access to life-saving HIV treatment and care, nutritious food, and loving support for children and families living with and affected by HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and India”, reads a statement from the organization.
The inaugural Black Ball was held the following year, raising $22.6 million for the charity since 2004, according to KCA.
“Keep a Child Alive’s Black Ball is a star-studded event where celebrity and philanthropy join hand in hand,” event organisers added in an online statement.
“The evening celebrates the work of Keep a Child Alive (KCA) and raises millions for children and families affected by HIV in Africa and India,” the statement continues, adding that the event “is sure to take you on a unique and inspiring journey”.
