Demi Lovatos latest song is "real" to her.
The singer released Made in the USA today, the second single from her self-titled fourth album.
Jason Evigan collaborated with Demi on the track and revealed how personal it is for the 20-year-old.
"This song is 100 per cent real to Demi now," he told MTV News.
"During the session, I can't say what, there was definitely some talk going on. She was talking about how this relates to her life in certain ways, all about her love being made in the USA. She owned it. She freestyled it out and made it awesome."
Demi recently opened up about feeling suicidal as a very young child, but didn't reveal much about her troubling past experiences.
While track Warrior from her album deals with her childhood, Made in the USA has a more light-hearted subject matter.
"These American romantic love stories [inspired it] and I feel like they're unbreakable through the years, through time, since the '30s and '40s and '50s, they still hold up. Real love, if it's made in the USA, it's never gonna break," Jason explained.
The accompanying video is set to break later this month.
Demi made sure she had a say in everything and actually helped direct the promo.
"She came in she loved it. She had the whole concept for the video in her head [as soon as she heard it], which is funny because she ended up directing it. I haven't seen the video, yet but I heard it's pretty awesome," he smiled.
"She recorded it and had some really good changes on it. She had some good ideas, just some lyrical ideas."
Demi the album was released in May and peaked at number one in Canada and number three in the US.
