Deacon Blue are set to continue their recent critical and commercial resurgence with the release of ‘Win’.

The fourth single to be lifted from their acclaimed album ‘A New House’, ‘Win’ (out 16th March on Rhino) is a beautifully sincere ballad, lovingly crafted around a chorus of rich, trademark harmonies and soaring strings. Recorded at Chem19 Studio in Blantyre on the outskirts of Glasgow, ‘Win’ was produced by Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand and King Creosote), and mixed in New York by Michael H Brauer (The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney).

‘A New House’ and 2012’s ‘The Hipsters’ have firmly transplanted Deacon Blue back into the national consciousness, their heartfelt, soulful rock chiming with a new audience raised on the epic, Deacon Blue inspired balladry from the likes of Travis and Elbow.

Far from harking back to past glories though, ‘A New House’ is an ambitious collection of depth and passion, showing a band with a renewed pride and sense of purpose. With sold out shows at the Royal Albert Hall, the 13,000 capacity SSE Hydro Arena and a triumphant set at T in the Park under their belts in the past 18 months, Deacon Blue also continue to reinforce their reputation as one of the UK’s most loved live acts.
