We may have the most details yet on the condition of Joni Mitchell if David Crosby truly has the inside information.

Crosby talked with Huffpost Live, confirming earlier reports that she did, indeed, have a brain aneurism on March 31 at her home. He says that she was not found for some time and still is not able to speak, comparing her recovery to someone with traumatic brain injury.

His full statement:

I have not spoken with her. To my knowledge, she is not speaking yet. She is home. She is in care. She is recovering. How that’s going to go, we don’t know yet.

She took a terrible hit. She had an aneurism and nobody found her for awhile. She’s going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury.

She’s a tough girl and very smart so how much is going to come back and when, I don’t know and I’m not going to guess.

You know, I love her. She was my old lady at one point. She’s probably the best of us. Probably the greatest living singer-songwriter. It’s either her or old weird Bob, who’s also my friend and who I love.

I think we’re all holding our breath and thinking a good thought hoping that it’s going to turn out OK.
