Daryl Hall is bringing his web-based series Live at Daryl's House to the airwaves this New Year's Eve.
Live at Daryl's House, A New Year's Eve Special will air on WGN America, carried by many cable systems around the country, on December 31 from 11 PM to 1 AM EST (8 PM to 10 PM PST). Included in the broadcast will be musical highlights from the 36 episodes of the shown that have been broadcast over the internet. Among the performers are John Oates, Rob Thomas, Neon Trees, Smokey Robinson, Train, Todd Rundgren, Sharon Jones, Eli "Paperboy" Reed, Toots (of the Maytals) and Jose Feliciano.
Daryl started Live from Daryl's House, A New Year's Eve Special, a free monthly web show in November 2007 after having the idea of 'playing with my friends and putting it up on the Internet,' and the show has since garnered acclaim from Rolling Stone, SPIN, Daily Variety, CNN, BBC, Yahoo! Music and influential blogger Bob Lefsetz, who have cited Live From Daryl's House as a perfect example of a veteran artist reinventing himself in the digital age by collaborating with both established colleagues and newer performers.
