Hundreds of Electronic Dance Music fans, street art officionados and F1® VIPs – including seven current F1® drivers - united in Brazil to mark the close of the 2013 Formula 1® season at burn Yard™ Live.
Fuelled by burn®, the celebrations were held at Paço das Artes in Sao Paulo, which was transformed into an artist’s canvas by a street artist collective and brought to life by a crew of cutting-edge DJ’s - including international star The Revenge.
The Revenge is a progressive and versatile DJ, most notably recognized for his critically acclaimed album with Z Records that saw him re-work classic tracks from artists including Johnny Adams and The Joneses.
He was accompanied by burn residency DJ duo London Beats and local Sao Paulo residency act DJ Gop Tun, providing a standout soundtrack to close the successful season for Lotus F1® Team and burn energy drink.
In addition to the beats from global electronic music artists, the Paco das Artes was transformed with murals celebrating the F1® season by a collective of local street artists led by Polish street artist M-City.
Brazilian street artists Binho, Acme, Snek, Fins and Graphis worked alongside M-City to push the boundaries of their creativity. Their work was unified by a giant sculpture, created by M-City, that provided a central, celebratory focal point in the venue. The M-City sculpture represented a living ‘character’ who took a kinetic journey from the F1® track to the burn Yard™ Sao Paulo end of season event.

An animated edit that follows the journey of M-City’s ‘character’ has been created. It charts the ‘living sculpture’ as it moves from the track, throughout Sao Paulo, stopping off along the way to showcase memorable burn moments, before culminating with it making a powerful entrance into the venue – transforming back into a static pose ready for M-City to start his artistry on this central event feature. Displayed alongside the dissident F1® murals were five bespoke, commermorative F1® racing helmets representing the story of the season – one that has seen phenomenal success for Lotus F1® Team with several podium finishes for both Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean.
The party was staged in collaboration with GR1D CLUB® ensuring representatives from various Formula One® teams attended including seven drivers; Heikki Kovalainen (Lotus F1® Team), Giedo van der Garde (Caterham F1 Team), Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber F1 Team), Daniel Ricciardo (Scuderia Toro Rosso), Pastor Maldonado (Williams F1 Team), Jules Bianchi (Marussia) and Rodolfo Gonzales (Marrusia reserve driver).
In addition, burn Yard™ Live provided a platform for the first public broadcast of the theatrical trailer for Human Ignition. Human Ignition is a feature length film exploring the future possibilities of Formula F1® and is the culmination of work involving some of the greatest minds in both design and motorsport including Mario Andretti, Harald Belker and Romain Grosjean.
