Céline Dion promises to deliver “high, happy notes” when she returns to perform in Vegas.

The Canadian hit maker has held a residency spot at Caesar's Palace on and off since 2003, but last August she cancelled future shows in order to care for her husband René Angélil, who is suffering from throat cancer.

But fortunately Céline is returning to the Las Vegas Strip in late August and she appreciates fans’ support through her family’s trying time.

"It is very emotional for me and I'm anticipating the emotions to grow even more as the date gets closer," she told People magazine. "It's very touching. Every night is a new show … I promise there will be high, happy notes."

As well as pulling the plug on her Nevada dates, the 46-year-old had to cancel her Asian tour last year so she could focus on providing René with the support he needs.

"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," she explained to People at the time. "I also want to apologise to all my fans everywhere for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."

The My Heart Will Go On singer and René married in 1994 and they share three kids together. This is 73-year-old René's second battle with cancer after previously being treated for the disease in 1999.
