Kaley Cuoco’s hit series The Big Bang Theory won big at the People’s Choice Awards.
The comedy programme picked up a trophy in the Favourite TV Show and Favourite Network TV Comedy categories.
Kaley made a hilarious stage appearance at the ceremony with her two The Wedding Ringer co-stars, Chris Hart and Josh Gad. The stunning blonde was recently embroiled in controversy about telling Redbook she’s never been “that feminist girl”. And the comedienne decided to take a jab at herself for the audience’s benefit while she presented the Favourite Comedic TV Actress category with Chris and Josh by her side.
“Kaley, are you sure you want to do that category given your anti-feminism stance?” Josh asked while onstage, with Kaley replying, “Guys, I have to, it’s part of my apology tour.”
She was announced winner of the Favourite Comedic TV Actress award. And although Kaley addressed the feminism scandal onstage, the star didn’t reference speculation she recently got a nose job. However, Kaley’s nose looked normal at Wednesday’s red carpet event.
This year’s People’s Choice Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, were hosted by Mom stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney.
The ceremony began with a cute sketch in which Anna is begging husband Chris Pratt to make an appearance at the PCAs.
This year many female comics were celebrated. Melissa McCarthy was voted Favourite Comedic Movie Actress and Betty White received the Favourite TV Icon award.
"I want to thank the fans that go out and buy movie tickets and allow me to do what I do. Thanks for the job," Mike and Molly actress Melissa told fans. "Without you I would not have a job and I'm going to stick around as long as you have me."
When Betty got up to the microphone, she referenced Melissa’s acceptance speech.
"When Melissa McCarthy said she said that she'd stay as long as you let her...Well, you've abused the privilege with me...Can you imagine the People's Choice at 93 [years old]? she quipped.
Winners were selected by fans, who called into phone lines to cast their vote.
