Currently enjoying a renaissance in the UK after his current album ‘Beyond The Sun’ entered the charts at #6, Chris Isaak will build on his current momentum with the release of the single ‘My Baby Left Me’ on March 26th on Rhino.

As with the ‘Beyond The Sun’ album as a whole, ‘My Baby Left Me’ finds Chris Isaak paying tribute to the glory days of Memphis’ Sun Studio and the visionary artists who started out there under the guidance of Sam Phillips. Originally written by Arthur Crudup, ‘My Baby Left Me’ is most famous for Elvis Presley’s recording, while John Lennon, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Slade are among the many artists who have also covered the track.

March will also see Chris Isaak return to these shores for a variety of high profile TV appearances which include a performance on BBC 1’s Let’s Dance for Sports Relief. Isaak’s last visit to the UK saw him guest on BBC Breakfast, This Morning, Something For The Weekend and The Alan Titchmarsh Show, while The Telegraph and Word both ran substantial features on him.

There are plans for Chris Isaak to return to the UK later this year for live dates in support of ‘Beyond The Sun’. His last show here was at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in the summer of 2010.

‘Beyond The Sun’ was primarily recorded at the historic Sun Studio with his long-term band; Rowland Salley (bass), Kenney Dale Johnson (drums), Hershel Yatovitz (guitar), Scott Plunkett (piano) and Rafael Padilla (percussion). The album also features a guest performance by the Memphis legend ‘Cowboy’ Jack Clement, a songwriter, musician and producer who worked with the majority of the Studio’s biggest names. Isaak magically recaptures the transformative brilliance of the classic sides cut by greats such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis at Sun with Phillips, while also getting down to his own deeply rooted musical identity.
