Cher has been forced to cancel the balance of her Dressed to Kill Tour, including dates through February, to recover from an infection.

Most of the dates in 2015 were actually rescheduled from when she was forced to postpone them in October. She had completed the first leg of the tour in July, playing a total of 49 shows, and took a break from the road to rest. It was during that time that she was brought down by the infection. The illness has not been detailed but a press release issued today indicates that it has "affected her kidney function."

"While her progress has been consistent, Cher's doctors have advised her to take more time to ensure a complete and total recovery."

Cher released a statement saying "I am totally devastated. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I’m so proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started."

Shows in a total of 22 cities were cancelled.
