Carly Rae Jepsen finds a delightful “escape” in the books she reads.
The 27-year-old Call Me Maybe singer reveals she is an ardent fan of the written word.
She carries tomes and journals with her wherever she goes.
"I get hungry for an escape from my day-to-day, so I always have a good book with me. I'm now reading Cheryl Strayed's memoir, Wild -- I totally recommend it,” she told Us Weekly.
"Every birthday, my best friend buys me ultra-girly floral journals. I try to bring them everywhere."
Carly is subject to on the go inspiration quite frequently.
She always has musical equipment ready for when creative stimulation strikes.
"I carry a guitar capo, to adjust the pitch in case I get into a jam session," Carly revealed.
"And I scribble lyrics on receipts-- my accountant loves me!"
Carly cherishes items given to her by loved ones.
A recent gift from her boyfriend is dear to her heart.
"The absolute most sentimental thing I keep on me is a compass my boyfriend [musician Matthew Koma] gave me,” she gushed. “It's my direction home."
Carly has a sweet tooth.
Candy does not survive in her bag for long.
"I have a thing for Gummi bears and also weird gum flavours, like lemon meringue and chocolate chip mint. They're so delicious!" she said.
