Chris Brown has denied having gang affiliations.
Recent reports suggested the 25-year-old singer was worrying family members amid speculation he had ties to a Los Angeles gang.
But Chris insists there’s no truth to the claims.
“When you’re in LA and you’re around people, you meet everybody - you meet Crips, you meet Bloods, especially in this industry that I’m in,” he told MTV News during a sit-down earlier this month.
“I’m not in the country world, I’m not in the all-the-way pop world. [When] you’re in hip-hop, all of that meshes,” he said.
Chris has meanwhile been tangled in multiple violent incidents.
Earlier this month, TMZ claimed the Los Angeles Police Department had been “quietly” trying to resolve issues with members of his entourage.
A law enforcement source apparently spoke to the outlet after a man was stabbed at Los Angeles hotspot Supperclub the same night Chris performed at the venue.
The victim, one of Chris’ fans according to UK newspaper The Mirror, was reportedly transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
A law enforcement source said no arrests were made.
The previous month three people were shot, including hip-hop mogul Suge Knight, during Chris’ set at 1OAK nightclub.
Suge told TMZ earlier this month he’s doing “extremely well”. The other two victims are also expected to survive.
Chris previously addressed the shooting in an interview with the Associated Press. The star insisted he tries to avoid drama, and mainly sticks to house parties following his June release from jail following a three-month stint.
Asked about the recent violence, he said: “It's 50-50. You could say that trouble follows me. And you could also say I create my own trouble."
"I'm not in control of going to a club and it getting shot up,” he insisted.
Chris was locked up for violating his probation stemming from a 2009 conviction for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
