The Bellamy Brothers, who topped the charts in 1976 with Let Your Love Flow and went on to a big country career, a relatively unimpressed with Britney Spears' latest single.

David and Howard Bellamy noticed that the song Hold It Against Me, which just started receiving airplay this week, seems to borrow generously from their 1979 country chart topper If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me. In particular, it's the lines from the chorus of Spears' song "If I said I wanted your body now/would you hold it against me?"

The Brothers aren't regular listeners to Spears but realized something was up when the YouTube views for their 1979 hit increased by 270,000 views

David told People magazine "That little song went #1 and has since become one of the defining songs of our career. If you listen to the lyrics of Britney Spears' new single, Hold It Against Me, you'll find some major similarities.

"Howard and I have no personal beef with Britney. She's a talented gal but professionally, well, in all honesty, we feel completely ripped off. Where's the originality?"
