Bob Dylan gets all Frank on us. The living legend has now closed his last four shows with a cover of Frank Sinatra’s ‘Stay With Me’.

The setlist for the current tour, including the recent Australian shows, had been the same every night up to this week when Dylan dropped ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ and ‘Blowing In The Wind’ for the 1963 Sinatra tune.

‘Stay With Me’ was written by Carolyn Leigh and Jerome Moross and recorded by Frank for the movie ‘The Cardinal’. The Sinatra version was included on his 1965 album ‘Sinatra ‘65’.

Dylan performed the song on October 26 in Los Angeles and then at his next three shows this week in Oakland.

The performance of ‘Stay With Me’ adds weight to the speculation of a Dylan album of Sinatra covers. In May, Bob shared his version of Frank’s 1945 song ‘Full Moon and Empty Arms’.

Dylan has officially announced his Sinatra album in a flyer inside the new 6 disc set of The Basement Tapes recordings due this week. An all-star ‘Lost On The River’ album of unfinished songs from The Basement Tapes with guest artists will also be released in November.

The Basement Tapes Recordings and Lost On The River will both be released next week.
