Beyoncé Knowles and Jay Z have "put their differences aside", according to her cousin.

In May last year video footage of Beyoncé's sister Solange attacking the singer's husband Jay in an elevator leaked. What provoked the outburst isn't known, although there have been rumours about problems in the superstar couple's marriage.

Beyoncé's cousin Shanica Knowles insists that the speculation isn't founded, as the couple have done all they can to move on.

"They don't even mention the elevator incident any more. It isn't spoken about and everyone has moved on from it. Despite all the rumours over the past year, her and Jay have remained united and worked on things behind closed doors," she told British magazine Heat.

"It's hard to really know how Jay and Solange feels about each other, but whatever tension there is between them is very much hidden. They've put their differences aside on all family occasions for the sake of Bey."

Stylist Phillip Bloch, who has worked with Beyoncé in the past, also gave his opinion. He believes the pair are like any couple in that they experience highs and lows during their marriage, but that's made much more difficult because they are both so famous.

"Every marriage has troubles and they are no different. I think there were definitely troubles, real ones, in the elevator. That incident sent a message to Jay Z. He's taken that on board and realised he needs to concentrate on what's in front of him - his marriage," he explained.

And that could mean adding to their couple's brood. They are already parents to three-year-old Blue Ivy, with Shanica sure another tot is being planned.

"Bey is desperate for another baby, so the family are all waiting for the announcement of the second baby Carter. Blue Ivy is definitely ready to be a big sister!" she laughed.
