Sunday was Aretha Franklin's 70th birthday, but that doesn't mean she is slowing down in the least. The Queen of Soul has announced she is going to work again with Clive Davis who was instrumental in her comeback during the 80's.

After a number of years of failing to score a major pop hit (she was still charting well in R&B), Franklin moved from her home at Atlantic Records to Arista and label head Davis. His guidance brought her big success in R&B and three new pop top tens, Freeway of Love, Who's Zoomin' Who and I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me).

Aretha made the announcement during her birthday party Saturday night at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel in New York. "I have re-signed with Clive Davis, so I’m recording with Clive again. [Next month] we're going to sit together and decide what it is we're going to record."
