Arms Around the Child, a new organization created by Leigh Blake who through her tireless work and energy has launched two life-changing organizations, The Red Hot Organization and Keep A Child Alive, which between them have raised over $50 million and helped to save over three million lives. Arms Around the Child is her latest venture focusing on children who are orphaned or in need of care and protection in India and Africa.
With its recent "Other Ball" New York and London fundraisers hosted by Global Ambassador Mark Ronson and featuring performances by the likes of Miguel, Lykke Li, A$AP Rocky, The Black Keys, Mikky Ekko, Lily Allen, Florence and the Machine, Blood Orange, Rudimental and Angelique Kidjo, serving as the official launch of Arms Around the Child, the organization has spread its message that children living parentless or in poverty need our attention and are the most vulnerable.
Arms Around the Child is thrilled to have Angel Haze as an Ambassador. When Leigh was listening to Rudimental's "Hell Could Freeze” her first thought was "Who is this talented girl? She is simply amazing." After some quick research Leigh had discovered Angel Haze. After a bit more research Leigh discovered that Angel’s childhood history and the extremely difficult road she followed made her an amazing voice for the issues Arms Around the Child wanted to focus on.
“As a once underprivileged child, I feel it’s important to provide children of similar destructive, limited, or abusive backgrounds not just the freedom to choose where they want to go and who they want to be, but the resources as well. At the end of every day, I'd like to think I will have done all that I could to make someone else's journey a bit more comforting. I like to think that everyone can help in some way, and for me, it's an absolute joy and honor to be involved in a practice so exemplary.” Says Haze.
