Ahead of his performance on the Live Final of Britain’s Got Talent, internationally-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli reveals a new album will be released later this year.

Details of the hotly-anticipated recording remain under wraps, but it’s sure to please fans around the world.

The announcement of a new album comes as Bocelli appears as a guest performer on the Live Final of ITV1’s hit TV show Britain’s Got Talent on 31st May.

In addition to having sold over 80 million records, Bocelli has performed for four US presidents, two Popes and the Royal family, as well as at ceremonies for the Olympic Games and the World Cup. He has been praised by such luminaries as Luciano Pavarotti, José Carreras, Renée Fleming, and Celine Dion, who once introduced him by saying: “I heard someone say that if God had a singing voice, he would sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli.”

Credited with bringing classical music to the masses, Bocelli performs and records both pop and classical material, often combining both in two separate halves of his concerts. Over the years he has also appeared in numerous opera productions including Puccini’s La Boheme and Verdi’s Macbeth. His ability to comfortably sing varied repertoire is evident from his best-selling discography, which includes 9 chart-topping pop albums and 14 core classical recordings to date.

Last year Bocelli serenaded UK fans at four major arena shows in London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Dublin. He has to date received a staggering 7 World Music Awards, 6 Classical Brits, 4 ECHO Awards, a Latin Grammy and a Golden Globe.
