The one awards show that knows how to be succinct, the Americana Music Awards, announced their nominees on Thursday in each of the seven categories (yes, just seven).
The announcement was made at The Grammy Museums Clive Davis Theatre by Jim Lauderdale and John C. Riley.
Also featured during the announcement was music by Lucinda Williams, Shelby Lynne, Robert Ellis and the Americana All-Star Band (Lauderdale, Buddy Miller, Greg Leisz, Don Heffington and Don Was).
Jason Isabell earned four nominations, for Album (Here We Rest), Artist, Song (Alabama Pines) and Duo/Group, with Gillian Welch right behind at three for Album (The Harrow and the Harvest), Artist and Duo/Group.
The awards will be presented on September 12 in Nashville.
