Christina Aguilera accepts “surrender” in terms of where to go next in her career.

The 34-year-old Genie in a Bottle singer is known for taking on diverse projects like serving as a mentor on US TV singing competition The Voice and starring in 2010 film Burlesque opposite Cher.

Christina enjoys stepping into unknown professional territories because she feels unrestricted creatively.

"I'm just open and I surrender to what the universe has to bring me," she told People magazine. "I'm also into pursuing another record, more film in the future and seeing whatever keeps me going as far as passion projects. That's what it really boils down to for me."

Christina is starring in three episodes of hit television series Nashville this season.

And she really enjoyed her time on set while filming the programme.

"I'm always open to trying something new and challenging myself in different surroundings," she said of what it was like to shoot Nashville episodes.

Christina performed with the Rascal Flatts at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Arlington, Texas on Sunday.

The star enjoys travelling to perform because every time she sings to a crowd it’s a fresh experience.

"I'm one of those people that goes and does the work, lives in the moment and just literally puts it out there," Christina smiled.

Not only is the songstress busy with career obligations, she is also mother to two children. Christina shares eight-month-old daughter Summer Rain with fiancé Matthew Rutler and seven-year-old son Max with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
