Adele's 21 tops US mid-year chart

Adele '21' is the biggest selling album of the year in the USA so far and the only album to have sold more than 1,000,000 units.

In fact, Adele has sold 3,668,000 units so far in 2012 making it more than three times biggest than the number two album from Lionel Richie 'Tuskegee' on 912,000.

Adele's debut album '19' also came in at no. 10.

Death was a good thing for Whitney Houston. Her February 11, 2012 misfortune translated into millions of dollars worth of sales. Her 'Greatest Hits' earned her an extra 818,000 units sold.
