Adam-Levine:-I-deserve-success Printable version

Adam Levine doesn''t see the point in being "self-deprecating" as he believes he "deserves" his fame and fortune.

The Maroon 5 frontman has seen his popularity soar thanks to his role as a mentor and judge on the hit US TV show The Voice alongside Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton.

Maroon 5 are gearing up to release his fourth studio album Overexposed, and Adam is proud of his success.

"I have a high self-opinion - I don''t need to hide that. I don''t need to be self-deprecating," he said in an interview with USA Today.

"I do believe that I deserve what I have. I don''t think I''m entitled to it. That''s a big difference."

Adam doesn''t believe in conjuring up senseless stories in a bid to try and connect with fans. The 33-year-old star insists he''ll never admit to cleaning his kitchen, when in truth, he doesn''t.

"It''s ridiculous. It''s too much. Can you just be a millionaire?" he mused. "My mom told me a long time ago - she didn''t know she was giving me this advice - but she said, ''All I know is, you''ll never change, so you''d better get somebody to take care of your room and get a housekeeper.'' That was burned into my skull: ''Must make money so I don''t have to do my chores, because I wouldn''t do them anyway.''

"It''s sweet that I don''t have to do my laundry."
