Jennifer Lopez's budding romance reportedly ended before it began because of the pressure of the limelight.
The 44-year-old singer's personal life has been making headlines of late, following allegations her ex-boyfriend Casper Smart had engaged in lewd messages with two transsexual models. He has completely denied the claims, with reports suggesting he and Jennifer ended their two-and-a-half year relationship several months ago.
It was then speculated that Jennifer had struck up a romance with Dancing with the Stars hunk Maksim Chmerkovskiy, although that was quickly denied. It's now been claimed that Maksim couldn't get used to the intense interest in Jennifer's life.
"It would be a turnoff to anyone,” an insider told New York Post. “It’s already gotten too over-the-top."
It was claimed that Jennifer and dancer Maksim grew close after they performed together at the American Music Awards in November. However, it was the singer herself who denied the claims via her Twitter page, firing back after a radio station suggested they were an item.
"No I'm not. #rumors #nottrue #AKAinstoresJune17 (sic)," she wrote, adding a plug for her new record A.K.A.
Being linked to another star is nothing new for Maksim, who was previously thought to be dating Kate Upton and his DWTS partner Meryl Davis. He recently spoke out about all the rumours surrounding him and his partners on the ballroom dancing US TV series, admitting it comes as no surprise when the speculation starts.
"Do you know what a showmance is?” he asked in Social Life magazine. “When you spend three months very closely with someone... it is like a summer love. You have no choice but to get involved."
