Demi Lovato made a visit to a children’s hospital at the weekend.

The 21-year-old star made a few of her young fans smile during a trip to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The visit was part of an effort organised by the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

A spokesperson for the US TV host’s non-profit took a moment to share a picture of Demi smiling with one of her young fans via Twitter on Sunday.

“@ddlovato you stopping by @RyanFoundation inspires our kids to be warriors everyday!! Thx for taking the time d :),” the rep tweeted.

Demi was happy to oblige. She took to Twitter a short moment later to share the photo with her fans as well.
“Anytime!!! Xox,” she replied.

Demi is currently on the road performing her Neon Lights World Tour, which kicked off a show in Charlotte Sunday night.

The trek is scheduled to wrap on May 17 in Monterrey, Mexico.

Demi recently revealed Nick Jonas was hired as the tour’s musical and creative director.

The pair have been close friends since she performed as the opening act for the Jonas Brothers on their Burnin’ Up Tour in 2008, and Demi recently admitted she's impressed by his creativity.

"Phil [Demi's manager] and I were going through ideas for the tour and I always want his [Nick's] opinion on stuff cause he knows exactly what he's talking about," she told MTV News earlier this month.

"And he had visions for this tour and he threw out some ideas and they were really good and we just thought 'Why don't you just do the whole tour, please?' so it's turned out amazing and like 90 per cent is his work."
