Long regarded as one of the best cult movies made in Britain, BREAKING GLASS finally gets its first ever British DVD release as a Collector's Edition.

Originally released in 1980, BREAKING GLASS is an essential addition to the DVD collection of every self respecting punk, cult and sci-fi enthusiast.

The film, which helped to define the post-punk, pre-new wave era, see's Kate Crowley (Hazel O'Connor) as an idealistic young musician who performs angry songs that rail against a dehumanising world. Hustler Danny, played by Phil Daniels (made famous in Quadrophenia) has ambitions for her, and almost overnight she is transformed into a huge star. Once at the top, however, the pressure ratchets up. Kate's trusted musicians are manoeuvred out of her band and she is left at the mercy of a ruthless and exploitative music industry. Before long, the social disintegration of the external world begins to mirror Kate's tragic descent into oblivion.....

Often referred to as one of Britain's best kept secrets in British cinema history, BREAKING GLASS features a classic soundtrack which includes hits such as 'Will you?', 'Eighth Day', 'Give Me An Inch' and 'Writing on the Wall'.

In addition to the digitally re-mastered British original film, the DVD also includes the original BREAKING GLASS cinema trailer (1980, 2 mins) and an interview with Hazel O'Connor (2012, 37 mins). As you'd expect from a Collector's Edition, BREAKING GLASS is packed with bonus extras, including a 20 page reproduction of the original BREAKING GLASS Press Pack from 1980; colour postcards of original BREAKING GLASS promotional posters from the UK, Hungary, France and Germany; plus a 28 page illustrated booklet featuring viewing notes and rare stills, written by film historian Marcus Hearn.

Written and directed by Brian Gibson, BREAKING GLASS is a landmark in British cinema history and offers a fascinating insight into the intriguing world of rock music.

BREAKING GLASS is available from all good retailers, priced at £19.99.
