DF Concerts launch King Tut's Summer Nights, a festival celebrating the best new music from around Scotland, and taking place from 12th -26th July at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow. As I prepare my playlist to guest DJ tomorrow night at the festival, I caught up with headliners John Wean for a quick interview:

Is this your first time at King Tuts Summer Nights?
Last year we supported Dead Sea Souls.

Have you played King Tuts before?
Yeah a tonne of times but this is our first headline show!

What does King Tuts mean to you as a venue?
It's the place you NEED to play if you’re going to make it so it's the hotspot for great unsigned artists.

How much do you think King Tuts represents the Scottish music scene?
It is the Scottish music scene

Describe your sound for those who are not familiar with it?
We sound like the wombats crossed with the arctic monkeys.

What can we expect from your set on the 14th?
Our first live acoustic song EVER!

Are you familiar with any of the other bands playing on your night?
No, but once it got announced we had a listen and we love them.

What other bands should fans of new music be looking out for at King Tuts Summer Nights?
Hector Berzerk, Vukovi, Fatherson and Bwani Junction are all awesome
