Dubbed as one of UK progressive death metal's elite, Ageless Oblivion have just announced the eagerly anticipated followed up to debut album, Temples Of Transcendent Evolution.
To be released on 17 March 2014, Penthos, produced by Chris Fielding (Napalm Death, Electric Wizard) and mixed by Hertz Studios (Behemoth, Decapitated), is nothing short of a mind blowing. (Actually more likely to smash your mind in with a primal concrete sledge) Described by Metal Hammer as "The actual future of Metal", Ageless Oblivion have raised the bar even higher than predicted. Penthos is an exhibition in carefully blended and precisely mastered brutality.
It is fair to say that Ageless Oblivion are one of the most exciting bands in Metal at the moment. Achieving what so many have failed at, seamlessly breaching the boundaries of sub-genres, Penthos solidifies their unique sound and pioneers a fresh take on death metal which has the potential to revitalise what is, at times, a misunderstood genre.
Since the release of their debut album, Temples Of Transcendent Evolution, Ageless Oblivion have shared stages with death metal heavyweights such as Decapitated, Aeon, Cerebral Bore, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Dyscarnate, Conan Blood Red Throne, and Latitudes. Not only that, but it would seem that they have earned their place amongst these bands along with a level of respect, earned by their epic live shows and immortal energy.
